Many amateur athletes are conscientious about warming up, but may not realize cooling down is important as well. When you engage in physical activity, lactic acid builds up in your muscles. Cooling down by continuing your activity but at a progressively slower pace helps the blood composition rebalance in your body, and can help prevent dizziness.
